Well folks, if you ever wanted to go back in time to prevent buying Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles at EB Games back then, you are out of luck. At least that's the claims of Hong Kong physicists at the University of Science and Technology research team led by Du Shengwang. They have proved that a single photon obeys Einstein's theory, which says that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. If that is true, then the idea of traveling faster than light to achieve time traveling using a series of tubes might be impossible.

Impossible? But this ruins my lifelong dream of becoming Marty McFly! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Hahaha. If what they say is true, it kills me because I really wanted to prevent myself from buying that Final Fantasy game I mentioned T_T
Meh.. who needs tubes when you have DeLorean?
Physically impossible? Maybe.
Good thing wizards don't follow the laws of physics.
Wizards would be a good addition to the theory. The never think about the wizards!
OMG they gotta be wrong! I'll travel to past and talk to Einstein about that! Oh wait
We might have to look for other ways to travel back in time. Anyone in for a microwave that spins backwards to send text messages to the past?
I'm sure some mad scientists will still try. I hope so, anyway.
Hopefully they are wrong.
I liked that game... :)
i couldve actually saved my money and not blow it off on useless junk, lol. FANG YOU TIME TRAVEL!
impossible... for now...
damn, I was counting on my time machine working...
it will be possible in the next couple of centuries!
Don't listen to him... he's asian...
Just kidding. I wouldn't rule out time travel all together yet.
It still might be possible.
Interesting post! Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)
impossible for what we know... maybe we will stumble onto something new that we thought was impossible. i could happen im sure
Atleast we can still travel through time at different speeds. +Follow :D
There is that thing where time slows down as an object approaches the speed of light. So if there is a way to make a shuttle travel that fast it would appear to the person in the shuttle that time is whizzing by. So you could still have a machine that travels forward through time but not backward.
I think there was an episode of futurama about that.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
It'll make my life fall in sadness.
They are wrong. It can't be true. >:
I think I already knew that this would be the case. Shame for all the sci-fi "warp-speed" stuff as well, as this basically means we'll need cryo-stasis technology if we want to travel to other solar systems.
Oh come on, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was my favorite of the games, and I'm being dead serious. And I wouldn't rule out time travel 100% just yet
I think the most blasphemous thing is the dissing of Crystal Chronicles. Seriously, that game is ART. If you're never gotten 3 friends and played this on the GC back in the day, you missed out on one of the best multiplayer experiences ever.
If you're talking about the DS abominations, however, I'd have to agree. Those were absolutely garbage incarnate.
@LivingChaos
Yeah, many people would agree the game is good as long as you had 3 friends around. I played it myself that way and it was good enough. The problem resided in the fact that 4 GBAs were needed at any given moment to play the multiplayer, even when the addition of functionality to each GBA made it a different experience.
As for the DS ones, never played them. I see you have a gaming blog, I would like to see a review of the DS ones if you played them. That would be good ^^.
someday it will be possible :D
