Game Developers Looking For Some Google+ Slice

Well, it has been a couple of days since I last came here. Moving stuff from one place to another is some big work and yet here am I to bring you a bit of interesting news for those who like social networks and games. It's no surprise that Google+ for all people in general is just a matter of weeks to come but; How about so game developers looking forward to make games for the newborn social network?

For now, many developers and publishers are looking for ways to adapt their games to the Google+ service to diversify themselves and look for other ways to take a slice of the cake. Taking into consideration the fact that Google+ service acquired 10 million user in just 16 days (compared to Facebook, which took 852 days to reach that) we can say it is a pretty big cake we are talking about and taping into such user base is just what any game industry would want.

A clear advantage Google holds is their Android platform for mobiles, which set a precedent  with gaming companies and indie developers that could potentially create games for the social networking monster that is on the rise. On the other hand we have Zynga, the biggest developer of games for Facebook, that could run into some legal troubles if it tries to port some games to other platforms. If that were to be true, we could see serious competition from a lot of developers on Google's social networking service.

If you are an avid social gamer from Facebook; What do you think about this?
If you are more of a hardcore gamer or none at all; Does this affect you in anyway?

To be honest, im not that into FB games. While the rise of G+ will affect the amount of new games released for FB, i dont think it will be a major issue. On the other hand, G+ will have no problems, even if they cant sign Zynga, they will find a way, Google always finds a way hahahah
The good thing about this, is that the fierce competition will raise the bar for developers in both sides.

I have some games adds on Facebook. But I don't think it would be too much difference.
I prefer Facebook than Google+, anyway.
Dunno I guess it's not the games what will make people join it.

Really hope Google actually smarts up and doesn't go down the path of social gaming on the +, or at least not to the degree as Facebook.

i never played a game on FB but i understand there are many people who do.

I don't play any of the games on facebook, but I do know that competition does, or at least SHOULD, breeds improvement, so if they had someone to compete with, the games should get better.

Didn't those farmville people make some absurd amount of money with their crap? I think Google+ could get bigger than facebook (certainly blew up faster) so having some games in there right away just cements the idea that it will be a staple. Although I'd bet the farmville people are already developing a version of that for +.

Google can do anything man I got a faith. The world may one day have a google-based economy.

I'm not into social networks games. They suck.

Zygna has been losing millions of users every month. I can't see them being the top spot for long.

I kinda hope Google+ sticks to being a social site and doesn't allow games/fan-pages/etc.

heh well, lots of my friends have been hired as coders for social media games on facebook and myspace so there is clearly much money to be made on behalf of this new platform of gaming. :D

I'd like if they were to only publish new games on their own to keep all proprietary rights of G+ games. That and I am so tired of seeing fb and _space games everywhere.

To be honest I'd look at what Google Chrome can do an integrate that into it, because Google Chrome is open source and you could make some browser specific games I bet

facebook will kick the bucket like myspace, it has it's flaws, but google knows its users (in more ways than one, haha!) and will likely adapt into the most optimal design it can become.
